A self taught artist, Campbell art work is influenced by his experiences  of growing  up in Monck's Corner, around the people of the Gullah. His art work is well known for its  silhouette  images, elongated necks, arms and legs. Working in mixed media of collage, charcoal, Ink, pastels, acrylics, old African American Newspapers, fabrics and found objects. Inspiration for his collage work came from two of the artist who influenced him the most Jacob Lawrence and Romare Bearden.

David Wilson's current body of work charts iconic treatments of the natural world through representations of the universal as symbols of collective dignity and identity and are based in a collage approach. His collages may include scanned newspaper or magazine clippings, cropped digital images from public on-line resources and personally taken digital photos of random objects in nature - even of other original works that he has created. His primary influences are Romare Bearden and George Braque
